TVS Motor, one of India’s leading two-wheeler manufacturers, has announced plans to double its electric two-wheeler sales by March. The company also intends to launch a range of new products within the next 12-18 months, in order to expand its iQube line.
According to a senior executive at TVS Motor, the company is looking to introduce a range of products with battery capacity ranging from 5kWh to 25kWh. This move is in line with the company’s goal to stay at the forefront of the rapidly-evolving electric two-wheeler market in India. The company now they are targeting 25,000 units monthly to meet the high demand for the scooter.
TVS Motor’s iQube electric scooter, which was launched in January 2020, has been well-received by customers, and the company is now looking to build on that success by introducing more products in the same category. The iQube is powered by a 4.4kWh lithium-ion battery, which offers a range of up to 75km on a single charge.

It is worth mentioning that TVS during the early phase of production, has set up a limited number of dealership outlays in Bangalore which has now expanded to 22 cities across India. The company’s plans to launch new products in the electric two-wheeler segment are in line with the Indian government’s push to promote electric mobility in the country.
The chief executive told, “We are significantly growing our EV (electric vehicle) volumes. We are doubling our electric scooter sales every quarter and will continue this momentum in the fourth quarter, too. We will cross more than 100,000 units in sales by the end of this fiscal.”
