After three years, the Auto Expo is back and this time it has a significant number of attendees. The Auto Expo 2023 is taking place at the Knowledge Park, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, and is anticipated to introduce a number of brand-new automobiles, motorbikes, and scooters to the Indian market. This year’s Auto Expo is featuring participation from well-known automakers including Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, MG, Kia, BYD, Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, and Tata Motors.
On the first day of the Auto Expo 2023, MG Motor India’s MG4 Electric Hatchback made its premiere in India.
With an overall length of 4,287 mm, a width of 1,836 mm, and a height of 1,504 mm, MG4 is a major player and is based on the Modular Scalable Platform. It is the first MG model to employ it and the scalable architecture is ideal and highly versatile.
The five-door vehicle boasts a roomy cabin and a modern stylistic approach. They have uniformly distributed weights for improved handling, immediate steering feedback, and quick cornering.
The MG4 electric hatchback can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/ph in under eight seconds and has a top speed of 160 km/ph.
The hatch may sit low to the ground because of the flat battery pack. With just 110 mm in height, it is rumored to boast SAIC’s flattest battery.
In addition to having the thinnest battery pack in its class, it is now only offered a rear-wheel drive configuration. All-wheel drive is planned for the future.
The 51 kWh battery pack can travel up to 350 km, and the 64 kWh battery pack can travel up to 450 km when used in the WLTP cycle.
The 51 kWh battery pack is linked with a 168 horsepower electric motor, while the larger battery pack is outfitted with a 201 horsepower electric motor.
The powertrain also enables battery swapping systems that use Battery as a Service.
The MG4 EV was built with the ability to incorporate advanced technologies, such as a Pixel Point Cloud Comprehensive Environment Mapping for great self-driving solutions and an integrated service-oriented architecture to receive OTA updates.
The display at the Auto Expo will give MG the chance to measure the reaction from the media and show-goers, and it might be released soon to go along with the MG ZS EV and the Air EV.
