Mahindra recently made a big announcement that would prove to be a catalyst for the EV world. The giant has decided to set up a factory in Pune by investing an approx amount of 10,000 crores. All the allocation and activities will be performed under the Industrial production scheme of the Maharastra government.
This investment will play a crucial role in enhancing the company’s role in setting up different units of manufacturing, production, and the development of Mahindra’s upcoming “Born Electric Vehicles(BEV).” Some of these vehicles made a public entry in the UK show in the month of August 2022.
The company’s Executive director, Rajesh Jejurika also made some comments on the event “We are delighted with this approval from the Govt. of Maharashtra for setting up our EV Manufacturing Plant in Pune, and investing in what has been our ‘home’ state for over 70 years. We are very thankful to the Govt. of Maharashtra for their continued support. The Government’s focus on ‘ease-of-doing-business’ and progressive policies, together with Mahindra’s investment, will act as a catalyst for Maharashtra to become India’s EV hub, attracting further Indian and Foreign Direct Investment.”
These developments from Mahindra will soon bring a positive wave to the whole EV industry.
