In October 2024, the MG Windsor EV made headlines by surpassing Tata’s electric vehicles to become India’s top-selling electric car. That month, MG sold an impressive 3,116 units of the Windsor EV, capturing about 30% of the country’s total passenger EV sales. This milestone marked a 31% increase in sales compared to the previous year, with a total of 7,045 units sold, largely driven by the success of its New Energy Vehicle (NEV) lineup.
BMW India launched the i5 in the country on April 25, 2024, priced at ₹1.20 crore (ex-showroom). This high-end electric sedan has been introduced only in the top-spec M60 xDrive variant, and it arrives in India via the CBU route.
