Tata Motors has officially unveiled a new addition to its Nexon EV lineup, the Nexon EV 45 kWh variant, which now sits as the top-tier variant, surpassing the previous Nexon EV LR (40.5 kWh).

This latest model not only brings a larger battery pack but also more power and a variety of added features. With four distinct trim levels available, including the exclusive Red Dark edition, the Nexon EV 45 promises to deliver a more sophisticated driving experience.
The starting price for the base variant begins at Rs 13.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

45kWh battery pack: Offers an ARAI-claimed range of 489km, which is 24km more than the 40.5kWh version.
Real-world range: Tata claims a C75 cycle range of 350-370km.
Power and torque: Remains at 145hp and 215Nm, unchanged from the smaller battery variant.
Battery density: The new battery is 15% more energy-dense while occupying the same space as the 40.5kWh unit.
Charging time: The 45kWh battery takes 48 minutes to charge from 10-80%, compared to 56 minutes for the 40.5kWh unit.
Crash test rating: Tata is confident that the 5-star BNCAP crash test certificate for the 40.5kWh variant will extend to the 45kWh model as well.

The Nexon EV Red Dark Edition has been introduced with exclusive design updates. Available only in the Empowered+ 45 trim, this edition is priced at Rs 17.19 lakh, which is Rs 20,000 more than the regular Empowered+ variant.
It features a striking gloss black paint with red accents and 16-inch gloss black wheels.
The interior gets a luxurious upgrade with red upholstery, an all-black dashboard theme with red stitching, and a Red Dark-themed UI for the infotainment system.
The headrests also feature the signature ‘#Dark’ embroidery, giving the Red Dark Edition a unique and premium feel.
The Tata Nexon EV 45 variants come loaded with ample features.
Starting with the Creative 45, the variant includes LED headlights, DRLs, 6 airbags, ESP, an electronic parking brake, all-wheel disc brakes, a reverse parking camera, a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wired Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, voice assistant support, a 7.0-inch TFT instrument cluster, adjustable regen modes with paddle shifters, drive modes (Eco, City, Sport), power-adjustable wing mirrors, and an air purifier.
Moving to the Fearless 45, it adds LED projector headlights, an LED light bar, fog lamps with cornering function, auto-fold wing mirrors, a larger 10.25-inch infotainment screen with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, an HD reverse camera, and rear AC vents.
The Empowered 45 builds on this with a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, a sunroof with voice commands, a tire pressure monitoring system, JBL audio modes, cruise control, wireless charging, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, leatherette upholstery, auto headlights, and wipers.
The top-tier Empowered+ 45 adds luxury touches like a panoramic sunroof, a 12-litre frunk, a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, Vehicle-to-Vehicle and Vehicle-to-Load capability, ventilated front seats, an air purifier with AQI sensor, JBL Cinematic sound with a subwoofer, the Arcade.ev app suite, and a 7.2 kW AC charger.
Finally, the Empowered+ 45 Red Dark variant enhances the aesthetics with Carbon Black paint, a dark chrome 2D Tata logo, piano black trim, charcoal grey roof rails, jet black alloy wheels, and red leatherette upholstery, distinguishing it as a special edition model with striking design elements.
