At the ongoing Bharat Mobility show in New Delhi, Maruti has taken the wraps off the eVX concept, offering a sneak peek into its inaugural SUV set to hit the Indian market in late 2024. This collaboration with Toyota promises a twin release, with Toyota’s version slated for next year. Another hit at the show was Maruti’s Wagon Flex Fuel which will be empowered using Ethanol.
Both the eVX and its Toyota counterpart, recently teased as the Toyota Urban SUV concept, will ride on Toyota’s versatile 27PL skateboard platform. This shared foundation not only underlines a close partnership but also hints at more affordable electric vehicles emerging from this platform in the future.
Sized at 4.3 meters, these SUVs boast a spacious cabin, a perk attributed to their purpose-built electric vehicle architecture.
Maruti eVX was seen testing on Indian roads multiple times but the company has stayed hush on the details of interior and exterior.
Not just this but the company has made strides in Ethanol fuel technology. The Wagon R Flex Fuel prototype showcases Maruti’s commitment to diverse propulsion technologies. This variant, still in prototype form, features a 1.2-litre petrol engine tweaked to operate on E20-E85 ethanol blends, highlighting Maruti’s exploration of alternative fuel options.
