In a significant move toward sustainable urban mobility, India-based JBM Electric Vehicles (JBM EV) unveiled its all-electric city bus, ECOLIFE, at the 2025 UITP Global Public Transport Summit in Hamburg.

The launch marks the company’s formal entry into the European market as it accelerates efforts to drive public transport decarbonization.

The ECOLIFE electric bus, designed with a focus on performance, passenger safety, and environmental responsibility, boasts a range of up to 400 kilometres on a single charge and supports ultra-fast charging.

Notably, the vehicle features sustainable design elements including recyclable seats made from recycled materials and upholstery crafted from recycled yarn.

“Green mobility isn’t just about zero emissions; it’s about reimagining the entire transit experience,” said Mr Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman of JBM Group. “With ECOLIFE, we are offering Europe a smart, safe, and sustainable solution that will improve urban life and mobility.”Jbm auto 1 scaled India's JBM launches ECOLIFE - A Next-gen Electric City Bus in Europe https://e-vehicleinfo.com/jbm-launches-ecolife-electric-bus-in-europe/

Strategic European Expansion

JBM EV also announced the establishment of its European headquarters in Frankfurt, Germany, reinforcing its long-term commitment to the region.

The new hub will manage operations across marketing, sales, aftersales service, and strategic partnerships in the EU.

To streamline vehicle deployment, JBM has entered into a strategic leasing partnership with KazenMaier, a leading German green asset financing company.

Through this collaboration, the two companies aim to deploy more than 100 electric buses in Germany, offering turnkey solutions that integrate electric buses, charging infrastructure, and flexible leasing arrangements.

“We are proud to partner with JBM EV,” said Max Nastold, CEO of KazenMaier Leasing. “Their advanced technology and our financing capabilities together offer cities easy access to zero-emission transit.”

A Decade of Impact and a Bold Vision

Having completed a decade in the electric mobility space, JBM EV has already deployed or is in the process of deploying over 11,000 electric buses worldwide.

Its manufacturing facility in India is the largest outside of China, with the capacity to produce up to 20,000 e-buses annually.

To date, JBM buses have clocked over 165 million electric kilometers, serving more than 1 billion passengers, saving 350 million liters of diesel, and preventing more than 1 billion kilograms of CO₂ emissions.

The company aims to reach 3 billion e-kilometers and serve 10+ billion passengers within the next 3–4 years.

ECOLIFE: Built for Europe

The ECOLIFE electric bus is built to meet European standards and integrates an advanced ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assistance System).

It includes forward collision warnings, lane departure alerts, blind spot detection, fire suppression systems, and 360-degree cameras. The bus also incorporates cyber-attack protection, driver attention monitoring, and intelligent telematics systems.

The lightweight monocoque structure made from stainless steel improves durability and efficiency, while compliance with EU Intelligent Transport System (ITS) regulations ensures seamless urban integration.

Comprehensive EV Ecosystem

JBM EV’s presence at UITP 2025 also includes the showcase of JBM E-Verse, the company’s proprietary end-to-end EV ecosystem platform. Covering in-house battery solutions, fast-charging infrastructure, and support networks, E-Verse reinforces the company’s ambition to offer holistic mobility solutions.

The initiative aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG #3 (Good Health), #9 (Industry Innovation), #11 (Sustainable Cities), and #13 (Climate Action).

As Europe accelerates its shift to green mobility, JBM Electric Vehicles is positioning itself as a key player with a blend of innovation, scalability, and sustainability rooted in a decade-long legacy of performance.
