Chartered Speed to Deploy 900+ Electric Buses in India Under Major Green Transit Initiative
Chartered Speed has secured a groundbreaking contract from Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) to operate over 900 electric buses under the Pradhan Mantri e-Bus Sewa Scheme. This initiative marks a significant step toward sustainable urban mobility in India, reinforcing the country’s commitment to green transportation solutions.
The fleet of electric buses will revolutionize public transit in 13 cities across three states:
Chhattisgarh: Raipur, Durg-Bhilai, Bilaspur, Korba
Rajasthan: Jaipur, Jodhpur, Udaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Alwar, Bikaner, Bhilwara
Meghalaya: Shillong
The deployment of these buses will provide residents with cleaner, more efficient transportation options, reducing pollution and enhancing urban mobility.
This initiative is more than just an environmental breakthrough—it is a significant economic driver:
290,000+ daily passengers will benefit from zero-emission public transport.
2,000+ new jobs will be created across these regions, boosting local economies.
Thousands of diesel bus journeys will be replaced daily, significantly cutting carbon emissions and improving air quality.
The contract marks a major expansion for Chartered Speed, which currently operates 1,800+ buses across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Assam. With this new agreement, the company further strengthens its leadership in transportation services across B2G, B2B, and B2C sectors.
