Ather Energy has unveiled the EL01 concept scooter and its all-new EL platform, marking a major step towards affordable and versatile electric two-wheelers.
The announcement was made during the company’s annual Community Day event, where Ather outlined its vision for the next generation of mass-market EVs.
The new EL platform has been designed with cost efficiency, modularity, and ease of maintenance at its core.
Unlike Ather’s premium 450 series and Rizta models, the EL platform uses a steel unibody frame, which is simpler to manufacture yet maintains similar weight levels through intelligent design choices such as a single-sided swingarm.
The platform is versatile enough to support multiple battery sizes ranging from 2 kWh to 5 kWh, with options for both NMC and LFP chemistries.
This flexibility allows Ather to balance cost, range, and performance depending on market requirements.
