Greaves Electric Mobility has recently revealed the Ampere Primus Electric Scooter with the slogan “Har gully Electric”. The scooter is available for booking on Ampere’s official website and buyers can pre-book the Ampere Primus for just 999/- which is completely refundable. This scooter is expected to hit the roads by the end of the second quarter of this year.
The Ampere Primus Electric Scooter will be priced at 95,000/-. This scooter will include a 3-kWh battery which provided 120 km on a single charge – as per standard testing conditions at ARAI (Indian driving cycle).
The Ampere Primus’ design is a blend of both classic and futuristic styles of scooters. This electric scooter has no superficial features which distinguish it from a non-electric one. Complete with Ergonomic seating posture, a long leg room, and 22L worth of boot space this scooter has made no compromises on the comfort of the rider.
As mentioned earlier, The Ampere Primus Electric Scooter comes with a 3-kWh battery which provides a range of up to 120 km. The charging time for this vehicle is 4.5 hours with a 15 amps charger and 2.5 hours with a 25 amps charger. The company claims that this scooter can go from 0-40 km/hr in just around 5 seconds. Capable of going up to 77kmph while carrying a load of 150 kilograms this scooter is a performance-efficient one. The braking system however is drum type, which is below the standard considering the 95,000 price tag. The 12-inch wheel on the front is connected to a Telescopic suspension while the rear features a Coil-Spring type suspension which further improves the comfort of the rider.
The Ampere Primus LCD instrument console which has Bluetooth connectivity, navigation, and three ride modes: Eco, City, and Power. The notable thing is the inclusion of a Reverse mode which might prove to be helpful while carrying a load in the back seat. While this scooter offers the basic features, there is no mention of features like anti-theft, live tracking, etc.
The Ampere Primus is an average scooter and has some great features but lacks the more advanced ones. Priced at 95,000 this scooter is subjected to tough competition and there are many other alternatives to this scooter, some of them providing a better value for the money. Appearances of this scooter are not anything extraordinary and The Ampere Primus does not stand out from the crowd in terms of features or looks.
