As a follow-up to the debut of its Svitch CSR 762 e-bike two years ago, Ahmedabad-based Svitch Group has announced prices for the bike in India. As stated on the company’s official website, more than 12,000 orders for the brand-new CSR 762 have been placed so far, showing that the electric bike is becoming increasingly popular among customers. The CSR 762 retails for Rs 1.90 lakh (ex-showroom) and competes against the Matter Aera and Tork Kratos R. Besides being available in three colors, the bike also features a 40-litre helmet storage compartment front and center, which is a first within the industry. A passion for riding an electric bike, creative thinking, and a passion for sustainability are the main driving forces behind the design of the device, according to Svitch. With the brand-new offerings it has introduced, it hopes to contribute to improving the quality of life in urban areas and establishing a new trend in the industry.
Raptee Electric Motorcycle set to be launched in April 2024The CSR 762 is powered by a 3kW PMS electric motor, which is mounted mid-way on the carriage and has a maximum output of 13.4bhp. Furthermore, it is equipped with two lithium-ion swappable batteries with a capacity of 3.6 kWh, estimated to have a range of 190 kilometers on a single charge. Interestingly, the range of the production version has increased by approximately 30 kilometers since the first announcement of the production version. For the motor and other components on the e-bike to maintain peak performance for a long time, air-cooling technology is used. At its top speed, it can reach 120 kilometers per hour.
There is a weight difference of 200 kilograms (wet) and 155 kilograms (kerb) and the Svitch electric motorcycle has a wheelbase of 1430mm. A total of 24 degrees of rake angle are included on this chair, as well as a seat height of 810mm making it a great choice. With the bike, you can choose between five riding modes in addition to a parking mode. Other notable features of the electric bike include a 5-inch TFT display, a steel skeleton frame, 17-inch wheels wrapped in 110/80 tires on the front and 140/70 on the back, and a tire pressure of 140 psi on the rear. In terms of the hardware components, it has 300mm discs at the front and 280mm at the back with a combination braking system. There are also telescopic front forks and a monoshock at the back of the motorcycle.
It is estimated that deliveries of the CSR 762 e-bike will begin in August 2024, and reservations can be made for as little as Rs 1, according to the company. There are plans for Svitch to set up outlets in the areas that have received the greatest number of reservations from customers. It was previously disclosed by the automaker that it would open its first shops in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, and Ahmedabad, as well as in other cities in India shortly.
